New housing was being developed in Georgia above stormwater pipes and the formation of sinkholes would be economically devastating. The developers wanted to guard against infiltration at several joints without digging down to the pipes.

Engineered Solution

HydraTite Internal Pipe Joint Seals were selected for their long service life and trenchless installation.

Scope

Three of our extra-wide HydraTite seals were installed in this 60” pipe. Loose debris and mud had to be cleared away from the joints and then the rubber was positioned over the repair locations. The stainless steel bands were then expanded and locked in place. A team of two finished the installation in two days.

Solution

A small crew was able to fortify this pipeline against leaks in only two days. This economic solution was put in place without disturbing the ongoing housing development.
