Reaching A New Market

Infiltration led to the formation of sinkholes in Scott Depot, West Virginia. The City reached out to a local contractor to inspect the pipes below and defective joints were found in 36″ and 48″ culverts. These were corrugated metal pipes that were structurally sound but leaking at the joints. The local pipe repair market was saturated with snap-tight and other slip liners options, but the contractor believed that these options were too costly to repair pipes that only had defective joints. After doing some research, they found us and we explained that HydraTite offered the targeted repair they needed.
They ordered 10 of the 36″ seals and 24 of the 48″ seals to install themselves but made the trip up to us in Cincinnati to be trained on the installation process. I got them up to speed quickly, walking them through the entire installation process in roughly 30 minutes. We discussed the specifics of their job such as how concrete would be used near the joints to create a smooth sealing surface for HydraTite and how backing plates would be installed under the rubber to offer additional protection.
Because HydraTite offered a more targeted repair than anything they had seen in the market near them, they were excited to use the seal on this job and believed that more opportunities would come up in the future soon.
