Between rehabilitation projects, trade shows, and office work, our days at HydraTech are usually full. Still, we believe that taking time to give back is just as important as the work we do strengthening aging infrastructure. Recently, members of the HydraTech team spent a morning volunteering at Glenwood Gardens, helping preserve and restore the park’s native ecosystem.
Jennifer, Rob, Bret, and I arrived at the park early to learn about native plant species and the invasive plants that threaten their natural balance. Under the guidance of local conservation staff, we learned how to identify native flora, collect seeds, and replant them in restoration areas. By the end of the day, we had gathered and sowed native seeds such as Liatris, helping reestablish natural habitats that support pollinators and biodiversity.
Community service events like this remind us that HydraTech’s mission goes beyond infrastructure rehabilitation — it’s about sustaining the systems, both natural and engineered, that keep our communities healthy.
