HydraTite Internal Pipe Joint Seal, Air Test

HYDRATITE HIGHLIGHT

Apr 19th, 2022

HydraTite can be manufactured with a test valve that can be used to quickly test whether a seal has been properly installed and ensure there is no leaking. Many of HydraTech’s projects include air testing each of the seals after they are positioned over the joint or point of repair. The process is simple. Open the valve with an Allen wrench, pump 5 lbs of air behind the EPDM seal, spray the edge of the seal with soapy water, and inspect the edge of the seal for bubbles forming. If there are no bubbles the HydraTite seal passes the air test. If there are bubbles, the seal will need to be adjusted, reinstalled or there is another issue with the system the seal is being installed in.
